Broadway Musical "West Side Story" Season 1 (Japanese Language Version)

The story is set in the West Side neighborhood of New York City in the mid-1950s. The story of a time where Central Park was front and center, with the East Side being a high-class residential area, while the West Side was home to many immigrants.
During this time in New York, many immigrants from all over the world gathered in search of dreams and wealth. Creating rival gangs to fight against each other. However, by chance, the Polish-immigrant Tony and Puerto Rican Maria falls passionately in love. Their forbidden love entangling many, creating a chain reaction full of tragedy...

This work was inspired by Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet." Arthur Laurents, the scriptwriter, has noted that this work was about the struggle of love in this world of prejudice and violence.
