For this timeless masterpiece that has continued to shine a light among the history of Japanese theater,
Shinobu Otake will take the lead in this highly anticipated work!
◆Shinobu OTAKE - On being cast for the "Life of a Woman"
It's a dream come true for an actor to continue playing a role.
It means you get the chance to better yourself again and again.
But to have the chance to perform this repeatedly, the role itself has to resonate with the audience.
Haruko Sugimura was probably the only actress who had that kind of support from the audience.
And now, I have the opportunity to play this role at my favorite theater stage.
I will make sure to fully understand and focus to immerse myself in expressing what Ms. Sugimura cherished for so long that made the character of Kei so charming. I will do my best to honor this role.
In a tumultuous time,
this is the chronicle that has shaken the soul of one woman...
