Musical "Flowers for Algernon"

It is based on the 1959 novel of the same title by author Daniel Keyes. In Japan, this masterpiece with a circulation of over three millions was made into a film based on the novel in the United States, Canada, and France, and in Japan, it was also made into a TV drama in 2002 and 2015.
As a musical, it was first performed in Japan in February 2006, and was selected as the 2005 Kikuta Kazuo Theater Prize (Kenji Urai). It also became a big topic of conversation when it was performed in 2014, and became a masterpiece musical deeply engraved on people's minds.
In 2016, he won the literature prize "The grand prize of the book (Kimihon) presented to you" for selecting "The book I want my students to read right now." by voting among middle and high school teachers.
In the spring of 2017, the newly born "Flowers for Algernon" starring Yusuke Yata received great popularity, and in the autumn of 2020, it was decided to perform again at the Hakuhinkan Theater, where the first performance in 2006 was performed.

Charlie Gordon, a bakery worker who is only as intelligent as an infant at the age of 32. A dream comes to him.
A great professor at the university will make him smart.
